Hinze 5.8.08 -

I havent had a chance to fish Hinze for some weeks but finally got out there late this afternoon for a couple of hours. I had heard that there was a few fish caught in the western arm over the weekend so it was time to give my boat its maiden voyage on that side of the dam.

My last bass trips had been producing donuts on a regular basis. Armed with a new lure and new technique to try , it was good to finally get a couple in the net for a change. Also good to get them casting and not trolling.

First one just a tidler but the next was a well worth the effort and very satisfying. Got a few more hits but no hookups and then realized that one set of my trebles had bent straight.

Anyway my session was no were near the quantity of others I had heard about over the weekend, at Hinze and other spots, but certainly gave me the fix I needed.

Good on ya Richard.... I know what you mean about getting the fix that you need.
I think I recognise that lure.....I grabbed a few myself the other day.

Roo and Michael, yes its a SX40 which is a new lure for me. They are always mentioning them in regard to Bream so I figured the bass would probably like them too. What I liked best about them was how they suspended really well and sank very slowly. Also they react really well with different rips and flicks. I was casting in 1 - 3m of water. I actually had never used a suspending lure before.

Gee I was way off. I thought it was a glassy vibe. ( didn't see the bib ) Roo wins this round.
I grabbed an SX60 the other day, first cast SNAG....gone. I know where it is too. If only the water wasn't so cold I could probably get it back.
