can it be fixed

Hi,
Does anyone know if a Lowrance sounder/gps combo can be fixed?One of the prongs in the connection socket at the back of the sounder has snapped off due to corrosion.(just out of warranty)Iam now a very happy humminbird owner!I have been told that Lowrances are hydrogen filled and can not be repaired...is this true?

contact lowrance as they may still look after you . they do seem to be a throw away item in most cases and lowrance do have a lot of probelms and to there credit they reconize that and tend to look after customers even when out of warranty in some cases .
