Well I can report that S Factor does not turn on shut down bass. I went to Somerset yesterday. Found a school of bass and dropped down an ice jig after they rejected everything else. Got a few half hearted taps on the ice jig then remembered the S factor. Applied some s factor to the ice jig and dropped it down and did not get another tap, bump or anything.
I have no doubt that scent will turn on active fish even more but it appears that on this occasion it did not turn on inactive fish. I will however continue to use scent as a confidence thing.
I spoke to other anglers who had not caught any fish at somerset. One bloke was there for a week for no fish.
G'Day Brad..... My annual onslaught on Somerset Bass would start at the beginning of October...before then was a very hit and miss affair.....most of my work was done in the southern end of the Dam...putting in at the Spit......looking for the schools dropping a marker and drifting over them using 1/2oz Data jig Baby bass sliders with attractant and of course the Jackalls just excelled......it is concidered that Wivenhoe is a better winter dam than Somerset generally.....of course Summer time cast in and hang on......Cheers Whitto
Have heard from some that the peanut butter does work,
But from others i've heard that the catties just love it!
I reckon it's just a matter of suck it and see!
Cheers,
John.
Cheers Whitto I usually do alright through winter but the fish are shut down. Can't wait for the warmer weather though. (Off the original topic subject)
