    Where are the fish

    Hey all

Is there any fish left in the Pummicestone passage,, i have yet to bring anything decent home. im beginning to give up. Went out today and came back with almost the same amount of bait as I started with. I know that the weed and debris in the water is not helping, but even before then i havnt really caught anything.

    Re: Where are the fish

    Hi Falz87
See my Thread in Estuary Reports on using a Guide. There are heaps of fish being caught in The Passage. Never make the mistake of blaming the waterway when we don't catch. I used to do that but not anymore.
90% of fish are caught by 10% of the fishos, Its not hard to join the 10%. That approach has changed my fishing experience over and over again.
Keep at it guys, all the best.

Where are you? Bribie end or Caloundra? I suggest you join a fishing club. Caloundra Power Boat Club Fishing Club is good. Most club members will give you a few tips and you can see where they fish during competitions.

    Re: Where are the fish

Do you move around much ?.....sometimes you have to really do the hard yards until you find them. Then remember that they keep moving too.
Keep an eye out for signs. If an area has all the right things going for it. stop and give it a go for a while, If nothing happens move on.
Read reports by Nuggstar....he hops from jetty to jetty chasing his bream and he gets results.

    Re: Where are the fish

Falz , yesterday went to quote a job up near paridise point so dragged the boat allong and boated up to tiger mullet chanel, on the sounder there were heaps of fish !! , they were biting/.... stealing my bait and only one 200mm bream got "foul hooked" , after 4 hrs moving some , not to many times cause they were b/pinching bait , the wind made me travel back to the ramp,

near the ramp , 6 knot area, the wind dropped and stopped for a last fish to get something/anything! with my eggbeater i cast out into the deeper current and started getting bites/baited, then cast and with the reverse switch when i started getting bites i "Reversed the line out" then when the line went tight start winding foward, I got 7 good bream and a few throw backs in about 45 mins, ran out of mullet and 2 mins to boat ramp, but went through 13 litres petrol strange thou the sounder wasnt going off like at tiger mullet chanel but getting fish ? try the reverse thing maybee
