Kauri, Tin can ................................!
Can anyone give me the inside word on where and what tide to find Barra in the Great Sandy Strait. I have recently seen the video with Bargy catching Barra and I am dying to have a crack.

mmmmmmmmmm, have a close look at susan and an island anchorage!
the burrum is where you want to be put in at howard lots of jacks aswell up there barra from lenthals when it over flows would be going into the burrum
Giddy, Black Pig, I personally prefer a low tide at sunset, when all the bait are out of the mangroves, and the barra know it! If your in the right area you will hear them boofing. More barra in the straights than people realize ! This one caught in April just on dark, a few years ago.
Live To Fish
i know exactly where bargy is fishing in that dvd, a starter is between beaver rock and river heads. if anyone knows the mouth of the mary they will know where im talking bout. im heading back home in september and thats the 1st place im going haha
There are quite a few Barra up there but a fair bit of water between fish. Look for the type of structure that would hold Barra such as headlands, rock bars or creek mouths.
I have only chased them once a few years ago and came away with this 100cm beauty. The pic background should give some hint as to the area
