Another 110 mm of rain fell on the Noosa River last week, making the river a shite brown colour and also very fresh again.![]()
Trevally have been horribly slow, a few starting to appear here and there, and the flatties have been sporadic throughout the system. A few reports of school jew captures have been circulating a bit.
I thought with the fresh about and the tide not being too strong early in the morning, I'd chase a Jewie.
Good thinking 99..........after 20 minutes of tossing my soft plastic, it was monstered.
A light tap at first, then off it took. After a 5 minute battle I slid the net under a 79cm Jewie.
There were a few anxious moments with the net as the fish had the placcy right down his gob. The 20lb leader was chaffed but hung in there.
You beauty, my 2nd jewie in a fortnight.
Other than that, it was pretty quiet, but I wasn't complaining!![]()
Cheers, Jeff.
