might think about just gluing and new tip on and maybe removing the guide below
hi all, Any thoughts on whether rod is "fixable" will be appreciated.
Rod G Howard Samurai 7' 10-15kg spin rod (graphite)
Damage clean break, between guides at 2' from tip
I had line under tension and think it snapped at the break point of the rod.
I would be happy with a two piece solution, or some sort of internal rod joiner.
The 'working' part of the rod is not affected or I would bin the lot...which may be someones suggestion.
thanks in advance john

I'm in the same boat mate cause some knob jockey at the ramp. Morteon bay spin stick bout one and a half feet from the tip.
I'm going to glue a small piece of an old rod on the inside and a "sleeve" on the outside with 24hr araldite. I just can't bin it,,seems such a waste.
I have done this before on another rod and had no problem.

that clos to the tip isnt to much of an issue with such a heavy rod...fit a new tip and you should be fine...if the new tip is too close to the next guide it s good idea to take it to a builder and get them, to move the guide to make it look uniform again...
thanks for the advice....will definitely try the sleeve/bind tip john
