Considering either a Daiwa Sol 2000 or Certate 1500.

    Re: Drop Shot 820 4-8lb

I've just bought a 2000 certate and have been looking at the DSR 820 and DSR 8200. (among many other rods) I think the 2000 felt better matched with both of those rods than the 1500. Was minimal difference but i figured the extra capacity of the 2000 suited my application. Bream and squire.

What are you planning on targeting with this set up?

    Re: Drop Shot 820 4-8lb

I used to use a certate 2000 on it...

Since i have bought the new luvias 2004 and its a much better match. Its a lighter reel and seems to match the super light/responsive rod to a tea...

The certate was nice too dont get me wrong...and awesome set-up but the luvias is even better.

The 2000 size has a larger spool diametre which will give you longer casts and less line twist. I'm setting one up for Pam at the moment and I've gone for a 2000 Certate.

I'd definaely be going with the small reel. But it depends on what your fishing for, the line your using and the technique your using.

I think with a rod that size you should run 4lb braid. So therefor the smaller 1500 or even 1000 size reel would be perfect.

i use 1000 size sustains on mine and i find them awsome with 6lb pe braid. Great for bream, flathead and bass. I personally go for the lightest all round combo and therefore went the smaller reel for that reason alone. with a tiny reel and ultra light rod it is a pleasure to use, and can easily be casted all day with no fatigue

A Sol 2000 matches nicely with this rod. I have a Sol 2500 and I find it a bit heavier, and i shouldve gone with the Sol 2000.
