binding an lbg stick

am in the process of planing my next project which will be a 15kg lbg overhead stick now if im correct i want to do i do a underbind and then a triple overbind now what i need to no is how do a triple bind? like do bind back and forth or 3 seperate layers

mate 15 kg will only need a double overbind
u can do a triple if you want but it is a waste of time imo
i only ever triple 24kg and above
and do 2 seperate binds, cp in between if u are useing cp
what guides are you useing? blrlg's used to be the common lbg guides

are they fuji's ? hadnt put much thought into it geting some blanks from the states in august will probs purchase most of the other stuff here

2 Binds will be plenty! I like to do 2 separate wraps but you can just reverse the direction of the wrap for the second layer if you want. Another tip you cant try if you want something super strong is to do your underbind and 1st overbind. Then a coat of epoxy. Let it set up for 24 hours and then do your second overbind, 2 coats of epoxy and you should be ready to go. I wouldn't use CP on the over wraps on this one as you want the epoxy to get right through the layers of thread.

yeah. agree with mark think your epoxy do a very thin coat beofe your second bind, i gather your already using size c thread at least ? i have never had to triple the most i ever had was size c underbind and over bind for 10-12 kg sticks.

yeah dont use a CP, you want maximum strength and a CP will prevent the resin soaking through the thread and 'glueing' the guide and thread to the blank in 1 neat package...

i only double over from 15kg up.

thanks guys have not been using c thread as last project was light spin stick and thread size was A so guesse i'll have to invest in some new thread 2

I only use size A for everything and never had a problem.

You probably won't have any problems i always use size C on an underbind absolute minimum, but you could use A on the over bind, just a thicker thread underneath is probably better as there is less chance of blank damage, under such high pressures that the guides may be under for that size rod.

"A" will be fine mate
i have wraped heaps of 15 kg strokers with "A" under and over and used colour preserver and still never had a problem
depends what thread u are using, if it is regular u will need cp otherwise it will bleed and look like crap (unless its black)
if u are using ncp u can hit it straight up with epoxy(but the colour will darken a bit)
most people used to wrap "A" under and "C" or "D" over
