    Fitting QL Tabs To Platey

    G'day Everyone,

Still looking at putting trim tabs on the 5.5 Riptide. Was going to go the Lenco but now i'm thinking the Volvos are the way to go, seems like similiar performance without the hassle of the tab hanging out the back.

Because of sealed chambers i don't have the access you theoretically need behind the unit for the volvos. Talking to Dave at Riptide he reckons we can cut a hole into the tanks and weld a recess in the spot required to accomodate the plug. Ovbiously after welding some plate on to mount the tab onto. Run the cables through some alloy condute up the outside of the transom.

Can somone tell me if the plug is water proof or does the edge of the tab unit sealed up against the mounting surface keep the water away from what is a non waterproof plug in area??

Has anyone retro fitted the volvos to a platey like the above?

    Cheer's, Scott
