    Jeep Cherokee Any info?

    Hey guys,

Considering buying a Jeep Cherokee between 2002 - 2005. Looking at the V6 models.

Has anyone got one or got any info on these vehicles? Any help would be good.

Good comftable car on the road, the v6 is a bit thirsty, not much room in the back for gear, good rear axle articulation thanks the the 3 link upper A-frame setup, no front articulation at all, very limited ground clearance under the front suspension components. IF you dont want to climb mountians, and dont take tonnes of gear, then the Chero is a great car.

Hey mate, do a search on the subject. I was considering buying on about 6months ago and read some threads about them on here. After reading them i decided not to get one.

I had a Cherokee Sport (6 cyl) from about 92 to 00. Did the Strezlecki 3 times, Oodnadatta twice, Birdsville Track twice, crossed the Simpson, did the Plenty, Flinders twice plus a fair bit of crawling round hilly properties busting bunnies. The thing never missed a beat. But I do prefer the Prado now.

    Hi There,

I had 3 Cherokees 95 model, 97 and a 2000 all did in excess of 300,000 k in each the 2000 model 410,000 K, I used them as a work vehicle as well as a rec vehicle.
Travelled up to Fraser many times, lived in Longreach for a couple of years so drove some rough tracks out that way let me tell you, towed boats from Brisbane to Cairns on a few occassions.
All were V6 petrol engines all got around about the same fuel consumption figures 12-14 ltrs per 100klms when I started towing this went to around 16-18 ltrs per 100 K all were great vehicles.
Did absolutely nothing too these vehicles other than normal servicing which was often due to the K's I travelled plus new sets of tyres.
I would have no hesitation about recommending them, am actually looking at purchasing a Commander on my return to Qld in August, hope this helps.

    Regards,

    The Bomber
