    Crystal Creek

Thought I would try crystal creek again only this time instead of getting there at 5am I started fishing on the incoming turn of the tide at 2 pm. Fished it for 3.5 hours.

Live mullet and dead herring didn't even get touched. Prawns again did the trick albeit a lot of small pickers.

Very quiet until the tide got a lot higher. Ended up with 2 Grunter, 1 Butter bream and one Long Tom.

It looks fishy there.............will try again later in the year

    Re: Crystal Creek

    31 and 35cm Grunter

    probably 35cm diameter Butter bream

And about 60cm Long tom.............Long tom was good eating and he gave a good fight with lots of jumping

My 100% record for brining home a feed from Crystal Creek remains in Tact. I do think that early morning high tides are when the creek is at its most active. It does mean that I have to leave Townsville at 4am but............

The problem with big tides is a very strong run and not much place to stand unless you stand in the water

Nice place to fish...................just got to keep the Detol and baby oil mixture happening as the sand flies are bad

Yeah the sandies are a shocker Kev. well done on a nice feed, and even better, keeping your 100%record intact, you can't do any better than perfect.
