Been a good weekend fish wise, things are definitely picking up.
Saturday morning started with a near spooling on 4lb...........I was almost down to the backing before the hooks pulled.Oh well, next time I'll get ya.
Ended up with a nice flathead that went 59cm, some nice bream to 34cm and caught 3 species of trevally..........Bigeye, Tea-leaf and a Longnose.
All fish caught on 3'' Bass Minnows.
Good morning as there was bugger all boat traffic for some reason, just how I like it!![]()
Slept in this morning, left my crew Nick (abbott86) waiting for an hour, flicking a lure from shore. Sorry mate.
Picked Nick up and off we go. The fish weren't in the same spot today.....typical. Anyway moved around a bit to find some bait and stumbled across a school of mullet. We got heaps of touches and nudges before Nick hooks a decent Tailor.
Nice fish at 45cm. We pulled a few nice bream from under the mullet as well and I scored another tailor and Nick pulled a 40cm GT.![]()
I then flicked my Bass Minnow into a swirl and let it sink to the bottom. As soon as it hit bottom, whack, and off it went. Line was peeling off. "This is a good fish" I said to Nick as he readied with the net. After 5 minutes we had colour. "Jew" we yelled. You beauty! Good net shot and he was in the boat. A nice little Jewie at 63cm.We were rapt.
Good weekend with 8 species caught, gotta be happy with that!
Cheers, Jeff.
