Well it wasn't a bad weekend for the river to mud but where were the fish.It wasn't through the lack of hardy souls out there chasing .Both the baitboys and plastic brigade found it tuff.Myself and Garrett had a 4 hour stint on saturday arvo and put another 3 1/2 hours in this morning for a small result. We scored a few bream over that time and kept a couple to weigh in, but 27-29 cms pulled them up. Also we could only pull an ocassional undersized squire until garrett managed a 42 cm model. They were so finicky ,we kept fishing light until I blew my chance on a better fish that busted me up on a 6bl leader. You could cry when you keep plugging away and when it happens you blow it .Thank god I did have a 63 cm lizard take a likeing to my lure so he made his way to the weigh in.Garrett also hooked up on what looked like a cracker bream in the shallows this morning but again lady luck was not with us and he had leader knot failure. Not a happy boy So with our fibble result we still had done enough to take home a prize each . BUT putting all that aside, the best thing was meeting a few new faces and seeing a few old.Thats what makes it such a great social event.BIG thumbs up to the organisers and thank you . On another note, hope you got home alright Chris.Poor buggers maiden voyage and had engine problems. You'll be right when you sort it out, apart from that bad luck mate thats one slick looking rig Cheers
