Dont know what we used to do wrong though ? Was always mushy when defrosted when we did it, back when I was a kid. So Ive never frozen tailor since. I prefer not to freeze ANY meat if its at all possible, esp not seafood.

Outsider, what is the proper way to freeze Tailor ?

I only eat my tailor fresh ,I to have never found freezing doing them any justice(soft and mushy) now smoking them thats another story though.Good catch ,each to his own.

Hey Shane, yeh there were hitting any spinner at any speed, i was sometimes winding as fast as i could on the egg beater and they would still smash it, sometimes too fast would result in less chance off hook up, but give you and awesome feeling of them hitting 4 or 5 times before it gets to the boat. we were using some home made spinners out of old spoon handles, polished up. they had no difference is hook up rate. it was unbelievable.

Great catch there. i certainly miss a fresh feed of tailor since moving north.

Another tip when bleeding any fish, is to do it in a bucket of sea water, they bleed a lot more (faster too, so you can get them in the ice quicker) and you get most of the blood line out, also make sure to break through the neck when cutting, this also helps when bleeding.
