I had my first really successful Bream session of this season in the Passage on Friday am. I have had the odd good fish over the last month or so but this session confirmed to me they are well into their sapwning run. The fish came on the bite just after dawn and I managed a fish a cast for about an hour - then they just switched off. Most where legal with just a few undersize throwbacks. I was fishing just south of Buckleys Hole nearly at the point of turning the corner for Red Beach. I was using GULP 2" Shrimps and GULP 3" Pumkinseed Minnow Grubs. The biggest fish was just on 38cm.

Re: Serious Passage Bream
BarraBoy 7 - I use 2.8kg fireline with a 10lb leader - generally I work a 1/6th 1/0 jighead or if its really flat a 1/8th 1/0. If there is some current I let it carry the plastic with just a few light jerks of the rod tip every now and then. After each jig I let the plastic drop again and rest on the bottom for a few seconds before jigging again. When the Bream are really there they tend to just hook themselves if you give them time. No need to strike violently. Good Luck
