    Hey Matt,
That dam is very very hard to fish at the moment alot of fish have gone deep although if you have a kayak its well worth it casting jackalls and spinnerbaits are best methods very very tight up againts the weed i suggest heavy leader ... a few toga around.. Its not very good land based i know i would not bother but each to there own

Mat, I live here and haven't fished it because land access is limited and no power craft allowed not even electric. There has been feral weed problems and any props cut up and spread it.

You might try fishing from the park, this time of year it is bloody cold so there would not be much action. Summer there are plenty of swimmers. From the park you can drive along a track to a launch area, you could also try there.

That is about the only ready access to the lake I know of unless you know some one with a property that backs onto the lake.

Some claim to do real well with canoes across from the recreation camp. There are significant weed banks there but you need a canoe. That's why those that do make the effort do alright because there is not a lot of pressure.

Depending on where you are Lake Macdonald at Cooroy is not a bad spot and there is plenty of land access. Some good Bass and Toga are in there.

Most of the fish went over the spilway in last years big wet. There are still some fish there though. But as already mentioned, better to use a kayak or canoe.

One of the kayak fishos I know got a nice toga there earlier in the year (pic attached) on a purple spinner bait.

It's a nice dam but hard fishing right now.
