What species Burrum Hds August?

Just want to get an idea of what is around to target around Burrum Hds and Hervey Bay in August. I know the flathead, bream, snapper and tailor will be there. What about the trevally species, queenfish, tarpon, sweetlips and emporers, school and grey mackeral?

I know some/most of these species might be more common in summer, but are they around and worth chasing or don't bother?

I have a 15' centre console tinny and am prepared to travel up to around 20 km by boat.

Hey Jeremy,

We go up in september every year and the schoolies are thick then so there should be some around in august. Also there is queenfish and trevally there then so you should be in for a chance. I also caught a 7kg barra there last september so i think you should start seeing some summer species then.

Tailor came in pretty thick at North Shore in August a few times when I lived at woodgate and school mackeral start to appear late August but usually September.
The tailor were in the gutter just out from North Shore. More towards the Woodgate end of north shore rather than the burrum heads end.
When they are there they bite on anything . Drag a spoon around and youll soon know if they are about.
