hi sharen.
which part of town u in.
only club i know is moreton bay trailer at wynnum.
maybe others can help with more clubs.
i was at the wynnum one couple weeks ago.
good set up, for the money they charge.
just depends on what part of the bay u fish.
what you get is membership to the club, access to the boat ramp, lockup storage and the abiltiy to join the fishing club, at least that is for the manly club, there is also one in the cleveland, which seems to be a bit more exclusive..
Not necessary to be a member of a boat club to use ramps generally. The added option of being a member to some of the boat clubs is they have their own secure parking (especially when heading off for a few days) for both your vehicle and trailer as well of course the facilities of the individual clubs catering to their members.
A good example on the south side of Brizzy is MBTBC ..... Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club ... at Manly.
Having said that right next door is a very good all weather public ramp with the VMR right next door to that, so realy the choice is yours. For under $300 a year there its a hard to beat.
And no, I have no vested interest in recruiting new members ... To me its just a good all round set up ...
Im a member of the Redlands Boat Club - the one next to the VRM at Raby Bay. I live too far away to be a regular at the Fri night Surf and Turf but the ramp is fantastic and so is the pontoon - always nice and quiet and the secure parking is sweet. After joining the fees per year are about $250 and you can flush your motor at the ramp.
another similar named club is the Moreton Bay Boat Club at Scarborough, just around the corner from the Coast Guard base. It also has its own ramp and secure parking etc.
