I use a website called Made in China to source some massage supplies and fishing supplies. You need to order in reasonable quantities.

    Go to - http://www.made-in-china.com/

You would extremely lucky if any one gave you a list of their good suppliers they use in china. There is a lot of hit an miss when it comes to importing and when you find a good supplier in china its like gold . I might add i don't actually import building supplies so i couldn't even help with them if i wanted to. Though i have made a lot of good as well as plenty and plenty of bad contact through www.alibaba.com. Its a huge trade site with contacts for anything you want its just a matter of sorting through the rubbish. Any way good luck.

From the experience of others I have found that many companies or people represent themselves as individuals but when it gets down to the nitty gritty it appears that many are related in some way shape or fashion.
MY ADVICE WOULD BE VERY CAREFULL WHO YOU DEAL WITH.
Volume is the issue and quite often P&H can be more expensive than the product, swings and roundabouts I guess.Ian

Agree with most advice above. Other general advice would be:
    Continually monitor the quality
Find some contact in the country of origin (China) that understands your industry and your language and you can trust.
Check the samples. Are there standards you require for the industry.
Watch for variations on price & quality on follow up orders
Can you provide check guages for quality to be maintained(eg thread standards etc)
Tawain is a good country to deal with (prices usually slightly higher).
Be prepared to visit and communicate with your supplier often.
Have you got some margin on the deal in case things change.
Check freight costs and delivery options. Where are the delivered to. Their local port? or your port. There are many other import freight costs, check with a import agent/freight company for these.

    Good luck.

I used to get emails twice weekly trying to sell me cheap junk from "wei fishing"
    http://www.wei-fishing.com contact Jingsong Wei

You have to buy lots of 100 or more from memory.

OK if you wanna get rich quicker than selling quality tackle but you'll have to live with that.

I've never bought or sold any of this cheap junk gear myself. Lures won't swim, hard to tune or untuneable, oxidisation around towpoints due to inferior materials is a serious issue & hook hangers would be the same.

Rods & Reels are 3rd rate products but my opinion only going on samples sent. All binned.

Seems there's no QC unless you are a large company like Rapala etc who have people in these factories to do there own QC, ie storm lures.

I'm not looking for fishing gear.

I simply need to purchase bulk quantities of a very specific style of wide gape asymetrical stainless steel snap clip with an enclosed eye in it and a screw lock on it.

If I buy it here in Australia it comes from China anyway, and I have to pay a middle man who triples the price and does not accept responsibility for the product.

Better off to try and find a manufacturer and deal with them directly.

    Cheers

Try to get some sort of conformance certificate and watch the grade of stainless.

    That makes more sense.

Have you tried any US lure making suppliers like Hagens or Stamina?

Here's a couple of links in case plus it'll give you a rough price idea.

    http://www.staminainc.com/terminal_tackle.html

Worth a gander at least as they sell in bulk. I've only dealt with Stamina & they're very good.
