hhmm Prawny looking lure, I think I said that way back at the start! I still reckon to do some observing first, you need to find out what they are doing there, like hiding, feeding, resting, sunbaking, then you can plan your attack methods.
Pretty subtle, their action is like a miny walk the dog. Shouldn't really do any big splashes or anything, i'd don't know how well you'd do for casting distances though. A little cd3 with the trebles played around to make them float or sink accordingly would do nicely to. Another option would be to get well up onto those flats and cast back into the channel. Just think of all the ways you can take advantage of snells window and work around that. After a bit of rain aswell will help cloud the water but can change where the fish are sitting in the system specially when you are a fair way up to begin with.
There dont make much splash, just enought!!!!
personally i like towadi's better them px 45's but any of those ''walk the dog style lures should be good.
also if u really wanted to get some a mile a luckey craft 52nw pencil would be good, caught some stonkers on there lures! that american shad colour rocks!
What about the original pink grub - Meduim sized Ecogear Grass Minnow in colour 119, fished weightless or with a 1/50th hidden weight. Fished on 2lb Crystal Fireline with 2lb flurocarbon leader or just on straight through flurocarbon. Cast it as far as you can and as soon as the lure hits the water lift your rod up as high as you can over your head and wind as fast as is required to just get the pink grub moving across the top of the water, if it doesn't get smashed but you can see bream behind it - STOP and let the lure sink, that should get you a hit. When you strike you'll need to strike harder than normal to set the hook.
Great fun style of fishing, if it doesn't work now because water temps are low, try it in summertime, its a killer technique in the canals around the Gold Coast when the temps are up.
Cheers

cammion and sugar minnow mate. i no they will work for ya there or get a sx40 and use it with a high angle on ya rod. i still recon you'd shashem with a stinger rigged power minnow. one more that works for me verry well is get a gulp shrimp and hwj hook and cast out and as soom as it hits the water, start making it skip and hop along the surface for about 3 meters then let it sink. if they dont hit it on the surface, they will hit it on the drop or once it hits the bottom, if still no hit after that repet the hole process.
figjam
lightly weighted gulp shrimp would be deadly!!!!!!!!!
