    fraser report 28/6 to 5/7

    Day1 the annual fishathon/drinkathon up to the top of frazer with fellow ausfishers coolfish, big-steve and other mates andrew Ron and Terry. We decided to make camp about 5k nw of waddy with a great gutter sitting just out the front of camp. after doing basic camp setup we raced down to get the first fish for the trip out the front of camp. we landed some nice dart on plactic gear with the best dart going to est 50cm.
    Day 2 We awoke the next day all with hangovers and decided to hit up a gutter up about 2k from nagala rocks right in front of ocean lake creek for hopefully some tailor. the tailor played for us with around 10 or so coming back to the table. Fellow ausfish mate Coolfish(luke) went for a sneaky fish in the evening back to the same gutter and arived back with fish of the trip hanging out the eskie with a nice jew(see pic) caught on a pillie would u believe it.
    Day 3 after another huge night playing drinking games only big-steve and myself made it for the morning session on the tailor We easily made our bag limit with the fish jumping on anything with doublehookups on slugs being the nomal we took just a few home the table as we still had fish from the day before.
    Day4 We all got up for the dawn sessions Hangover again for another day of tailor cull. We caught good numbers of tailor with around 20 fish kept for the table with heaps more released.
    Day5 we decided after only a few tailor for the morning session that we would head over wothumba for the day to hopefully nail some flatties. After every plastic that we put in the water came back just a bare hook with the pike and toadifsh saverging our lures the call was made to use strip baits and the call proved successfull with 3 moster bream plus 2 small cod came into shore best bream going 40cm. We Went to origen that night up at waddy point and enjoyed some great company of some great folkes and good hospitality and watched a historic victory... go u good thing!@!@.
    Day 6 saw the tailor shut down to single figure numbers but the weather continue to be a glassout. we were all having afternoon drinks at camp and we saw the gutter out the front of camp a wash with birds and fish. we only got 2 good casts at the fish with my fist cast coming back fruitless. Steve was just a step behind nailing a nice little spanish mackeral on plastics gear. went est 65cm and was released being small but was still second best fish of
    Day 7 head home crapola...

    Nuggstar caught one recently and put it up in this thread;

    There was some contention but I think most favored it as being a Wirrah also know as an Old Boot.

    Thanks for the awesome report - it sounds like a top trip.

    I'm heading up at the beginning of October. Lures and plastics are my preferred style so I'd love to take you up on the offer of sharing some tips. PM on the way!

    And you got to see the Origin too. Does it get better than that!

    Cheers

    Yeah mate. I'll need to stock up with heaps of tackle before the big trip. If I do half as good as you blokes, I'd be stoked.
