Mate, i go fishing every weekend with all different fellas so i kno a little about sounders!!!!!!!!
What is UNIQUE about this poll? it is just which out of the six sounders you use, and as i hav said i hav used all the above sounders but never heard or seen a raymarine sounder before this poll so starting this poll i thought that these were the six sounders people use!!!!!!!!!
As i said before SORRY
I just like humminbird is there a problem with that!!!!!!!!!!
Thats the idea state what your fav sounder is and why!!!!!
Im guessing that ship had a raymarine!!!!!!!!haha
Kaj Busch would have to be one of the most innovative and experienced estuary fishermen in Australia, What does he use on his boat, Furuno! You would never see it advertised cos Furuno don't need to advertise.
Cheers Benny
Garmin are the same - no need to get out there and trumpet to the stars about GPS and finders (mostly GPS) unlike H'Bird and Lowrance that are sponsoring just about anything with a pulse
And furunos in the poll i very much like furunos. Thats what i hate bout humminbird the advertising, its every where!!!!!!!

Did i hear someone say they got their first boat at the ripe old age of 15?
As much as I have been enjoying sitting this one out with a cold beer (I dont do the popcorn thing) I do think its fair to say that there are really 4 levels of sounder on the market
1) Entry level
2) Mid level
3) Top end
4) professional
The above companies all make sounders from level 1 and 2 however only Furuno have features that would put them into catergory 3 (imho) and the likes of Lowrance whilst very good units are retail friendly and have no where near the parameters required for serious (commercial work)
Raymarine have sounders from cat2-4 other proffesional manufacturers are Koden, JRC , kongsberg and simrad some of who are not known to many boaties as they are generally not 12 volt power and have enough power to blow a hole clean out of the shelf and can cost 100's of thousands of dollars.
Mee-pee99, the question you asked was a fair and good one however as stated was a very broad question that cant really be answered without a few more details regarding the purpose and working conditions/ depths etc that it would be ideal for.
For the reference the pasha bulker was using a wristwatch sounder put on ebay for 29.99 ex hong kong.
Cheers
Geoff
Your first post was very general, what is your favourite sounder? You never said for what use until later. So at lot of guys said what they liked, asked why you hadn't added their brand, only to get a mouthfull from you back. Maybe next time add an other box.....
Why ask if you don't want to know?
