    Hey Ronnie,

My nick name here is skippa. It came from back when the net started and I was looking for a email name. I've always lived near the water & I grew up watching Gilligans Island and dreaming of living on a tropical Island somewhere. Gilligan was more suitable says mum (hmmmm) but was taken so I chose skippa. Mostly I get called skip, cept for Home where mum&dad call me Toe. Dad has a habit shortening names so mum chose Tony, can't shorten that she thought... wrong.

At school my surname had a Y added like Jonesy Smithy etc

Boat names I've had as many as I've had boats. With my latest I've considered this one, but written upside down ..... If U can read this call the VMR

    Cheers,
    Tony

My Ausfish nickname is Griz cos my missus reckons I am like Clark Grizwald from the National Lampoon movies. Every time we go camping there is some disaster like the cricket ball hail we got caught in at Ballina one year when the tent was only half up. Each time we are away the kids always point out the Grizwald Family clouds
    Tight lines <*)(((((((((><

    Hey all,
Kingfish is nothing.. just an email address, but my nick name is axe and has lasted me the last 20 years since grade 12. Played 1st 15 rugby as open flanker and on our first game I knocked two guys unconscious (one of them broke 3 ribs) by tackling them and from there on, I was christened axe by my mates. My boats name is waterproof, because i have a nasty history of sinking my last two boats >< However! I've had my current 6.5 centre console for almost 4 years now

My Ausfish name came from living in Bushland Beach, a suburb of Townsville. My other nickname Kapitan Kustard on www.polyboatowners.com comes from my constant raving about yellow boats being the best.

Boat name--Pride and Joy-- not very original but saw your surname and it sprung to mind.

I was an avid home brewer, in the early days I did it to make cheap beer, I then got obsessed by the process of beer manufacture, I built my own gravity fed brewery, Mash Tun, Liquor tank and sparge vessel. I was making beer from scratch, bought the malted grain from Toowoomba, Hops from Tasmania and Yeast from Germany, joined some brew clubs, won a few comps at club level, then at provincial shows, State level and then the piece of resistanc'e was winning natioanal titles for Stout and Pale Ale, made a brewing video whith some help of some mates and started a brewing club in 1998, PUBS (Pine Rivers Underground Brewing Society) which still exists today, I have no further involvement with the club as I have pursued other interests.

Blackjack is my hubby Jack. Not his real name which is Ian. He inherited "Jack" from his old man when he (Ian) was at an all boys high school. His dad was a cop and was often in the news reporting on some thing or other, so the guys at school started calling him after his dad to take the mickey.

Funny thing is though, Jack Senior's real name is Thomas.

When I met Jack (Ian) and first went to his home, it was madness. There was Jack the cop, Jack (Ian) the son and Jack (The Lakes Jack Horner) the dog! Jack, Jack and Jack!!! You could call "Jack" and all three would respond, but you'd usually get the wrong one - Murphy's Law!

As for our boat name and avatar picture 'Blackjack', well it's made up about us. Jack and Jenny are the names of the male and female donkeys. Can't beat it, so join it we figured. Hence,
the jack, the jenny, the 2 cards - jack of spades coz it's his boat, the ace of spades coz what else on a ventura owned by a rock and roll music head - "The Ace of Spades, The Ace of Spades" and "Ace" Ventura get it?

The "black" bit comes from my darling daddy. When he first met Jack, he (Ian) had dark hair and rather significant beard
. Dad told me he looked like "the wild black man from Borneo"!!! Not sure Dad was too impressed, but he found out that looks can be misleading.

Our Boat is Called "Ossie Bob"
My grandfathers name was Albert but his nickname was Ossie
My wifes grandfathers name was Robert but as always he was known as Bob
I threw the idea around of calling the boat Albert
The wife told me it should be named after both grandfathers.
So after some different combination trying we came up with Ossie Bob.
There is no double meaning. But hey we like it. Both Ossie and Bob are fishing the lake in heaven now. (apparently it goes well up there all the time) .
Both Granmas are still here and are thrilled we named our boat after two mad fishermen.

    "Sole Survivor"

Like Pin Head, my wife's mum and dad died within 3 months of each other and left her a few bob. She wanted to spend it on a better boat and she bought a whittley naming it "Sole Searching"after her dad's surname (Sole)............the searching bit was a reference to us sole searching as to whether we should spend that much on a rig. We also bought a little tinny for crabbing etc which we named "sole to sole" in view of her being a tender to "sole searching" when we fished down the pin.

Anyways, health and other matters conspired to have us selling both and buying yet another tinny (a 519 stacer) which our son Josh (kingcobe) suggested we call "sole survivor". This in light of the fact that we'd had many boats in the past and it was intended that this would be our last.
