Just moved up from Sydney this year and loving Brisbane.

Shame about Wednesday night, Archer should have been wearing a maroon jumper

Finally got the boat up from Sydney and is now on the hardstand at Manly. I hadn't started the engine in two years and was a little concerned at what I would find.

Not knowing anyone in Brisbane to service the engine, I looked on Ausfish Forums and saw that a lot of people had recommended Jeff Orr. Can I tell you that it was like waiting for the results of a brain scan. My heart was in my mouth as Jeff did the compression test on each cylinder....1 OK...2...Ok......6 OK..what a relief !!!

It took him a couple of hours to do the carbies and the lower leg and she revved up on first kick. For anyone who needs a good mobile mechanic, Jeff (0419 765 002) is an absolute gentleman and guru.

Can I say thank's to Jeff and also thank's to all those forum members who took the time to post their recommendations.

Having grown up on Sydney harbour, I know every nook cranny and bream hole. Moreton Bay just looks like a big brown pond. I have no idea where to go, where not to go or when to go and when not to go. So you'll be seeing a lot of posts from me asking dumb questions about boating in Queensland.
