Thread: All That I Could Catch

    All That I Could Catch

Turned things around a bit today and hit the weir thismorning instead of an arvo session like I've been doing this break, hoping to change my luck.

You know the phrase- "water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink"?

Well, there was Barra, Barra everywhere, but none of the freakin' things were interested in my futile offerings!

The buggers were quite happy to swim lazilly about sunning themselves. At one point I found myself content to just stand and watch a big girl holding on a large submerged rocky outcrop no more than 3 or 4 meters from where I stood.

The morning wasn't a total loss however. All I used thismorning were SP's- look what they caught.

Hey Brett, I was wondering where you've been. Haven't seen you on here in ages. Was gunna call you in fact.

Geez, I haven't fired a shot in anger for a long while, I miss it too. You going to marinate it? Got any swine to go with it? Come up for a fish and bring it with you

Oh yeah, forgot to mention in my initial report, (for anyone interested) the local fishstocking association has just recently released 500 Barra fingerlings into Blacks Weir.

Re: All That I Could Catch

Ok let the other cousin get involved in this discussion. How's things going mate? I have not been on the site for a while myself. I am looking at buying a new reel for bass fishing. Whats the reel you've got there in the photo with the plastics, definately looks the part?? Ive been getting into a few bass lately at North Pine and a couple of weeks ago managed to time it right with a good session of 10 bass caught in about 3/4 hour.
Like Brett I'll definately have to get up your way one day for a fish. Hope all is well with the family.

    Cheers

    Scott.

Re: All That I Could Catch

    Hey Scott,

That's a Diawa Zillion in the pic. (just don't tell Viv if you buy one-they're a few bucks.) Or you could go an Alphas, and if I was you I'd order it straight from Japan, it'll be cheaper.

Mate you'll have to come up now, I pick up my new boat next weekend!

    Cheers, Andy

Re: All That I Could Catch

Come to think of it, I do remember you telling me about the Zillion. I'm looking at the daiwa range and have a mate who has the Alphas 103. Nice reels.

New boat hey. You lucky bugger.

I might give you a buzz at some stage to talk more about the Zillion.

    Cheers

    Scott
