    sand yabbie

    have been told the best bait for whiting are sand yabbies i have never fished with this bait and can someone please tell me the the best way or correct way to put it on the hook

    when using them live i like to just stick it through the end of the tail so that way they still act natural but when they are dead i thread the hook through the tail and bach out through the stomach. thats how i do it others may hjave a different oppinion.

    Pretty much as Keechie said, or you can thread the hook through the tail / bum section on the underbelly, and come out near the head.. fairly simple.. a bit like threading a worm or prawn on.

    Pretty good bait, where are you getting some from ?

    Just thread it like a prawn really let the hook point come out slightly at the legs, so the legs cover the hook point.

    i had a chance to fish for whiting with dave downie earlier this week and he was using yabbies. he rekons the best way if you plan on casting a fair distance is to go through the tail and out the near the head in the hard shell
