    Fingal Head, Cook Island

    hi everyone,
I am heading to cook island this weekend to do some fishing in my kayak and was just wondering if anyone else fishes this island or has fished it and has some helpful tips about how to fish it and what type of fish you catch there? also it would be alot of help if anyone had any hints about the safest way to launch a kayak from the beach there...

    cheers

    Hello Joe

You can try fidos, 9mile if you want a bit of a paddle, there are lots of smaller pinnacles and what not around the eastern side of cook island, and by the looks from a chopper 1 inbetween from cookisland towards mainland.

I'd recommend fidos and 9 mile and hitting between 9mile and cook island with a sounder and hitting up all the snapper that are to be had around there.

It all depends how good your yak is set up and how far you want to paddle and what distance you feel comfortable at.

hi iricangi, i was thinking of hitting up those exact reefs, i have a pretty good sounder and am not scared of doing a big trip. do you have rough gps marks for fido's and nine mile? i am thinking of heading out this sunday, looks like good enough weather to me.
    cheers for the info
