As i finished all of my end of semester uni exams i thought it was time to take my younger brother out for a fish. We headed down to the local spot. I really couldnt be bothered chucking a sp, so we just baited and relaxed. In the first 20 mins got a couple of decent hits and landed a 23cm bream. 10 mins after that we caught a fish every cast and then it went silent. It started getting a bit too chilly and we felt hungry so we started to pack up and then all of a sudden bang! Whatever it was nearly snapped my 2-4kg bream rod. Took me for a run before it busted me off. Oh well, shit happens . hope the rest of you did well
bad luck azzure, Ive had the same thing happen to me lately down that way.
Theres some big fish about, and I think its cos the mullet are in season. theres a big run of em along the beaches and a few schools have been in the broadwater near the rivers. That will bring the predators out to play.
I did manage to catch some of those baby snappas/squire you told me about last month. I was not in the same spot as you, but it was only a mile away. I got em the same size as you, about 30-35cm.
