Info on Daiwa ST-600 reel...

I am new to this forum, but I am trying to help my husband find information on a reel he has recently acquired. It is a Super Dynamic Daiwa ST-600. Can you tell me when this reel was made, whether it is a reliable reel, and what the retail price was at that time? Are these reels still being made and if so, what is the current retail price? I am also curious as to what type of fishing this would be used for. Any information you can give me on this reel would be appreciated. I can find nothing on the Internet which seems very strange. I can supply a photo if that is necessary.

Yes, Ken, that's where we started...They (the U.S. site) said they never dealt with that model and suggested we try the International Daiwa sites. I have sent e-mails to the Japan, Aus., and U.K. Daiwa sites. I haven't heard a word, so I thought I'd try some forums next since they can be such a wealth of knowledge. Thanx for your reply, though.

Did a few Google searches and got a few hits from the Japanese E-Bay site, but nothing currently listed there. The entries seems to be dated around 2002/2003. Suggests to me it is a old Japanese market only model about 5 years old.

Perhaps try some of the on-line Japanese Tackle stores?.
