    Long load times for ausfish

This last month or so I've been experiencing long load times for ausfish. I now find myself visiting less often because of this problem. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Blame your ISP first, they will blame your phone lines or whatever they can think of, then before dumping them do a thorough sweep of your computer for malware/spyware/viruses etc.

Just been through this and only a change of ISP made a difference and it was a HUGE difference!

    cheers fnq

can't do much about it unless you change to Mozilla/Firefox I believe, from IE.

this has been covered before in chat help, or similar section, of the forum.

also has to do with how the pages load IMO - the code is setup to load all at once rather than staged. but 'thats just the way it is'

Don't rely on Mozilla/Firefox either. It was all OK until I downloaded version 3.0 recently. Seems to be a Java Script issue but Ausfish pages lock up for 10 to 15 seconds whilst each page loads. A total pain in the what's it. Don't have problem with any other sites??

Yeah, I am an MS fanboy cause they make me loads of cash, But firefox is the go. I decided not to try Firefox3 cause its looks as crap as IE7. Perhaps its time to try Opera..

BTW, ausfish loads up heaps quick for me and I am on the old firefox, that is the one before 3 whatever that is. Also did the tweaks suggested in this forum and its seems to work a treat

have been a firefox user for many years, had it slow down a while back & tried another Mozilla product & haven't gone back. Is a bit different in it's a browser & mail combined..try Sea Monkey.. http://www.seamonkey-project.org/

    Yeah,

I have already downloaded and installed Seamonkey but not yet used it. I just fired up Internet Explorer and it is just as bad as Firefox.

I don't have a problem with any other forums or java applets (and a I use some pretty sophisticated ones like Web Iress) , only Austfish seems to be playing up so far.

Might have to fire up Seamonkey tomorrow.

Re: Long load times for ausfish

i downloaded firefox 3, and has tripled the speed of ausfish for me.

you can also personlise ur settings with vBuliten
so that avatars, banners ect wont load, this speeds it up heaps too

To do this ya have to go to your USERCP then edit options then Visible Post Elements. and deselect the options from there.

    cheers

Have tweaked the code a bit, see how it loads now.

I don't use Internet Exploder so please feel free to let me know if you find it is not working well at anytime.

    Thanks

Much better in Firefox now, loading in a second or two max.

I don't use IE these days but fired it up to see. Still pretty slow, but I have not tweaked it at all so regulars might have more luck.

    Thanks Steve.

IE is just so annoying, I havent used it for years.

Firefox is still the go, because you can tweak it. Run the scripts in the sticky on the top of this help page.

Then have a look at what plugins you can add on to Firefox.
    http://www.computerworld.com/action/...icleId=9011975
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

    My favorite is Flashblocker
    http://flashblock.mozdev.org/
within 2 mins I had downloaded and installed the plugin. Now I never see Flash content on any webpage unless I ask for it by clicking on the Flash icon.

So fast loading pages....can you do this on seamonkey or IE?
