Any tips for whitting from scarbough tomorrow????

    Hey Lads,

I am thinking about trying for some whitting tomorrow leaving from scarbough (Redcliff).

Am i waisting my time ??

does anyone know if there are any about at the moment, what set up should i roll with, normally i just use small shanks with worms, fish pretty light, i have been very hit and miss in the pass but i have never fished the ground up there. Should I anchor or drift, sorry about the thousand questions...... one last one what do you think would be the best time to hit them.

Oh one more lol sorry should i throw a few pots out?

    Cheers

    MaD.

Thanks for the replys in advance, i love this site and the help that the majority of people give.

    Hi Mate
The bay out there is full of winter whiting at the moment. Head out from Scarborough ramp, aim just inside the tip of Bribie as your landmark guide, and fish what known as the Cockle Beds, its huge area of sand flats, comes up to about 5-7 ft at its shallowest, from water 20-25ft. Just drift across these flats with your baits out. We kill them on Berkley Gulp Sandworm Nerises, any colour seems to work. 78 fish the other day, good size too. About 6km out and you will see other boats. We get them consistently in the 7-10 ft range (my sounder is Ft not Meters)
I havent tried other areas as this always works for me.
