Brissy River Wrecks
hi everyone,
i have seen in a few maps on the net that there are three wrecks out and around the mouth of the brissy river yet i can't find any posts of people fishing them and whatnot... does anyone fish them and if so what do you catch there? is there any rough gps spots floating around the net for them that people know about?
cheers brendan

Re: Brissy River Wrecks
G'day Brendan, I asked the same question of some mates who know the area a little while ago and they said that any remnant is either silted up or rotted away by now. there is plenty of structure around the place to fish with rock walls and pylons and the like
All the best

Brendan, I think they're just rockwalls now and as Rhys has said maybe rotted away.

Hey Brendan
Some time ago there were a heap of hulks on the southern and eastern sides Biship Island at the mouth of the river but these were swallowed up by the Fisherman Island's Port complex. Interestingly they included they included the "Lucinda", the old Qld Gov Flagship. It was onboard her that the leaders of all the states met and drafted the Australian Constitution. In any other country that fact would make her a icon and she'd be restored as a tourist attraction but we turned her into a coal bardge and then stuck her mud bank to rot.
The "Kate" is a few miles north east of the river mouth, there's not much there and it's hard to find but she's the only one I can think of. She was 150 ton paddle steamer and sank in 1890 after a collision with another vessel.
Cheers
Mike
