I see there hasn't been much action down the coast chasing the Tailor but was wondering if there has been any luck up the coast I will be heading up there around coolum the week end for a cast or two .
What fishing am would I be lucky enough to jag if fished around Stumers creek mouth. Never fished there before. Is the creek accessable of land without a boat??

Re: sunshine coast Tailor
ya realy need a kayak or a canoe to fish stumers. there is a road that leads right to the mouth. try the coffee rock there if it is still exposed, i smashed a few there and heaps of good dart. lots of worms and pippies to. the creek has BREAM AND MULLET

I caught a few on teewah beach last week, good sizes. I just got back from teh coast yesterday, the gutters have changed alot since, and are pretty crappy for tailor where i went. there is probably a good gutter somewhere, or try a river mouth.
cheers

Re: sunshine coast Tailor
I scored a feed of tailor off the sand pumping jetty on monday night, at one stage (around 5.30 -7.30pm) thay were almost jumping onto the jetty themselve's, Everyone was hauling them in , even the lady a few spots down from me who had a huge casting distance of lets say, 20 meter's, was getting them so im not too sure who's been saying that the goldie hasnt had any tailor action, it is worth mentioning though that it was really only choppers getting caught and not genuine greenback's but all fish i seen (including mine) were over legal size, at least in the 40cm bracket!
BUT BE WARNED!!! that sand pumping jetty at the spit is shoulder to shoulder like no other I have ever seen, tangle ups are common place, even the odd fisher rage is there and if your brave enough to dodge the gauntlet of flying ganged pillies you'll come up with a feed of tailor.

Re: sunshine coast Tailor
Thanks guys much appreciated. hopefully i can post the results if i get lucky.
Blaster I was reading the thread on the Gold coast tailor on 22/6 which as you say the jetty looks like about the only the place to be. Not much fun dodging gangs and fish rage if there is no action anywhere else.
