hi all...just after a few tips on fishing off maloolaba....what have they been catchin up that way lately.......whats the current like......any help welcome...also thinking bout murphys if the wind permits...cheers
Hey mate we was up there last sat night we tried sushine reef with no fish then back to gneerings, we got 5 legal fish and about 500 undersize pearlies. We also lost a big spanish mackeral next to the boat but thats fishing. current was terrible as it was blowing about 25 knots but it calmed down and became quite pleasent by about 5.00 p.m
yeah i went up there bout 8 weeks ago for my 1st trip out of the sunny coast got alot of grinners at murphys then went to the gneerings got a heap of undersized fish there but it was bout midday when we got there.....just hope to get something..........
Hey mate if the weather permits go for a run out to the barwon banks if weather permits its about 38km out from malloolaba should get a good mix bag there. pm me for some general marks to put you on the reef there if interested.
Fished the reefs from mooloolaba up to sunshine last sunday arvo,
only brought back one pinky but two reds just under and lots of scorpion cod.
Nice during the day but rough as bags coming back

rosco, they call em poor mans lobster apparently good chewin, i believe they are the same as most cod at 38cm, be aware of spines, will hurt like hell, maybe ry caloundra 12 mile, approx 20 km from mooloolaba. cheers lethal
