Fishing Sunshine Coast - Mackay
Hey fellas im heading up to mackay in the 2nd week of the upcoming holidays for a wedding and i was wondering if there are any spots i should go for a fish in between the sunnycoast and mackay. I wanted to drag up the boat and fish the impoundments like lenthals and monduran but dad said we cant as we wont hav enough time so will hav to fish landbased on the saltwater scene.
Any ideas? i heard the mackay harbour can be good at times? What fish species should i be targeting?
awaiting your replies thx

Anything from flathead to coral trout to mackerel to queenies, mate. Go out to the helicopter pad, south wall. Pillies, squidly and lures/metal slices.

Bobs right.
There have been reports of Snapper off the Harbour wall ATM. Flick a whole squid where the sand meets the rocks and hold on.
The Pioneer River is fishing very well at the moment for big whiting 35cm plus. Just walk the sand flats. There are heaps of Yabbies along the sand flats also.
Looks like the wind will be more than likely up as it always is.
Let us know how you go.
Cheers
