Left Mooloolaba at 3.45 am fri morn aboard the 620C Barcrusher.. Headed out in glass conditions averaging about 55km/h.
Arrived at the northern end of the banks to be greeted with zilch on the sounder. We persisted until sun up and low and behold the dividends started to appear.
First a Maori cod to 60cm, then it was followed by Snapper galore. The current was running a fairbit so a sea anchor was in order. Got smashed continually throughout the day by a familar foe. Wasn;t quite shore until a smason of ~10kg hit the decks...
In summary. Snapper starting to thicken up, fish biting after sun up.
Final tally
12 snapper
1 maori
3 tuskis
1 ambo
68 ltrs fuel
