Great report LGM, I loved the photos... makes me want to head south again! Thanks for the lure info, too. I haven't used Sliders as trailers before so I might give them a go on the sooties and see what happens.

What I do know is I that definitely have to replenish our stocks of Mask Vibs -- is there anything that won't eat them?

    Howdy mate!
Long time no hear.... As always it seems like you've got the place sussed... i have n't been up in ages, been wondering if the cold has affected the bite at all- not by the looks of it!
Great report and well done (both of you).

    Hey Jimbo,
The cold usually makes the bassin' good fun. They really bulk up and hit hard.
My last trip out there I didn't even get a bite, but thats fishing for ya.
In the days before the grassy edges we used to walk the banks casting to find the bass, but now as you know your stuck in one spot fanning casts all over the place.
Gotta find them this weekend. Get the shakes if I don't feel a big bass hit for a while.

I'l be packing a Thermos of hot BUNDY next time I get down there!!
I've got the kids this weekend so no joy- but next weekend I might dust off the bass gear and give em a try. I'll contact you during the week to see if you're going to wet a line. (Been a while since I had sandwiches and Milo in the crunchy early morning cold.. ;-)
    Speak soon.

P.S. Have you been into Jones Tackle recently? I am NOT going to have you show me up with your Inspector-Gadget-Slider-Spinnerbait-thingamajiggy. (need some Sliders to is what I'm trying to say!) I hear the tackle place near the BP servo on Gympie Rd does them as well.....?

Hey Jimbo, hit the dam again on Sunday afternoon. Fished three spots around the dam for no fish...they've gone deep. I tried 15gm slugs but couldn't get to them. I ran into quite a few blokes who all told the same story. Up until two weeks ago they were biting and then it just seemed to stop cold. Shouldn't be too long before they start to go on the chew again....I hope !!!
I wish these flamin bass would just stay still...they really do make it hard
    sometimes.

    Yo LGM,
sorry for the delay, as you so rightly say the cold has well and trult set in!!
Even I've gone off the chew it's so miserable! Anyhoo- I'm going to give the Pine River a going over soon, the dam sounds too unreliable and cold. Mind you it gets cold on the Pine River!!
Watch the Estuary reports later, hopefully get me some nince flatties or a bream or 3.
    Tight lines.
    Jimbo
