Hi from Mick ... heading to Weipa!

Hi all,

I've stumbled across the Ausfish forums in the past, but being a land-based Brissie fisher, since moving back from the north-west of WA, isn't much to get excited about, so I've never officially joined.

Now that I'm headed to Weipa to live, I figure it's time to get a bit more serious with my fishing again, start looking for a decent tinny, and research my options for Cape fishing!

Been loving the reading and geez ... there's some nice boats for sale that I wish I was in a position to buy and take with me! I hear there's a decent boat market in Weipa itself, so we'll see in a few weeks time when I get up there. Otherwise, I'll be back down for a few weeks at Xmas.

Love to hear what land based spots you find at Weipa. I'm heading up there for a few days for work at the end of July. I hope to get a chance for a fish after work. Coming from the Pilbara and heading for Weipa, I'm guessing you're working in the mining industry?
