Great haul there, its good to see the young fellas get amongst it.
Hey Guys,
Finished school today at about 11 because of exam block and got out on the Nerang River at about 12ish, got to our spot in 2 minutes and then one of my best days fishing started.
Using mainly prawns as bait as i went out with my dad the bream were coming in slowly then i picked up a PB flathead of 62cm which was kept for a BBQ on sunday.
Over the following 3 hours we picked up about 20 bream ranging from just legal to 35cm, 2 cm of my PB, 3 stingrays which had our hopes up, 2 good size whiting and about 5 toadfish.
It was a great trip after school that lasted about 4 hours before they started to drop off the bite.

well done mate, what a good way to start the weekend!
Cheers, Mick.
Far out Dylan, !! some people just know how to do it ! wish I could have a great session like that sometime , (B 4 I turn 50 ) suppose I'll just have to dream on
just wondering......... what do you do with the toads?
Hey,
Yeh that was a really good session, its just a spot we have found, there are so many fish there, we have been there like the last 6 times weve been out and have got over 10 Legals each time. That is also the second 60+ cm flathead we have got from in there.
With the toads we just Get the pliers and get em off and chuk em back, they seemed to come in a school and then leave?? donno what happened.
There were a few good bream in that bag aswell, i think 3 went over the 30cm mark and biggest was 35.
I am goin out tomorrow afternoon with a mate and then also sunday morning using lures. I wanna see if i can get close to matching that performance. I think i need to practice a bit more though.
Once you find a spot were theres fish it seems to be easy

well done mate. thats a good haul
I had a good sesh today too, but in the coomera. We picked up a gazillion flathead, a cod, whiting, flounder and bream. All caught on TT switchblades except for the whiting on popper.
Keep smiling, It makes people wonder what you're up to.
All i can say is thats a decent session and thats one fat whiting in the bottom corner
Hey Barrakid,
Those whiting were quite long aswell they were both about 27-28cm mark and yes they were very fat. The only reason we caught the whiting was we were in our bream spot for about 2 hours using prawns, then we ran out and the only thing we had left was sand worms so we chucked em on and there you go 2 decent whiting.
Its a very productive spot.
