Downsizing, i know im not the only one!

Here is an interesting article I searched up from Seabugs post that got moved to the dungeon, well you heard it first here folks, I am heading out to dig myself a market garden, sell up everything recreational, I can remember how to skin a rabbit thankfully and will start to bone up on home made electric transport land and water! nothing like getting a head start on the great unwashed (dunno if that's a joke or not !!!!!)

Why not downsize to a 5.2 KC?? With 60 4's its cheap to run. Easy to tow stable as and still have the soft ride that the plate boys are missing Gee youd feel it goin back to a platey after that sweet 2400. A mate of mine is in search for a 2400 right now, if the sale doesnt go through this guy will buy it 100% . Cheers Deano.

I've been thinkin about the whole downsizing thing of late myself. I love my Spearfish 21, always wanted once since i read the original Trailboat Fisherman article years ago (still have the magazines), but all it does of late is keep the dust off the floor in the shed hmm

gday dean , i got to admit i havnt even given the 5.2 a thought, could you tell me a bit about them ie fuel economy, handling ect. i have been looking at the sailfish 5.5 though.

You do know that Lee went for a run in ians 5.2?? Lee rang me and said he couldnt believe that he was sitting on 25kts comfortably in those conditions and he would have been struggling to do 17kts in his Fisher. Straight from the horses mouth!!!

Dont have a complex bro, i just know what works and what doesnt. Lee rang I didnt ring him Actually just some 60 high thrusts will do fine. It'll owe me $65 000. I'll get that figure later down the track too, may lose two grand. Hell of a boat for those dollars, cant beat that!!

What I do know is that you spend a lot of time hear bagging other boats and trying to justify your decision to buy a 20y/o boat and now you gotta repower it cause it chews too much juice.
