The Department of Infrastructure Planning has commenced consultation of a new Infrastructure Master Plan with little fanfare and announcement...yet for those of you who frequent the southern bay area the need for better facilities is well known........

Southern Moreton Bay Marine Infrastructure Master Plan




The Department of Infrastructure and Planning is developing the Broadwater to Southern Moreton Bay Marine Infrastructure Master Plan. A downloadable map is available. The master plan, which reflects the state government's commitment to promoting marine industry within the region, will become the blueprint for marine-related development on water and land.
From June till August 2008, community and industry have the opportunity to have their say on the future needs and expectations for marine and marine-related infrastructure in the region.

A significant component of the study will be extensive consultation with industry, local government and business leaders. The aim of consultation is to identify the demand for certain types of marine infrastructure and explore funding models to support the plan.

So this is where the boat rego increase will be going hey?

Notice boat ramps & parking is at the bottom of the list?
Seems like the Super Yacht related businesses will get a nice kick along and we'll be left with the scraps unless we have our say in the consultation document.

• hardstand and dry boat storage facilities
• port facilities
• floating marinas (marine and dry land)
• buoy moorings and pontoons
• boat ramps and associated trailer parking.
