teewah beach saturday

Hi All

I went up to teewah with my grandad and his mate on saturday. We got their nice and early, and started fishing in a nice gutter for tailor around 6:15. it took a while for the first hit, and i had a nice 4 lb or so tailor in the wash, only to have it spit the hooks. a couple of casts later, i got hit hard by a much bigger fish and a fair bit of line was taken. But it spat the hook again, i was quite annoyed . But i managed to land 2 tailor almost 50 cm, while my grandad got one larger fish and a small chopper. Later on in the day we caught some good dart, most were around the 40 cm mark and a tarwhine.
All in all it was a good day, as we weren't expecting any tailor given the netters recent movements.

Although there are fish around, the movement of the netters is certianly noticable. They have been cleaning out the mullet and the tailor have not come in in any numbers recently. hopefully they will soon.

Yes i did, i fished lion rock. I think i might have seen you from the other side of the bay. I only caught a couple of bream, got no hits from jew, maybe one or it could have been a reefy. I got lots of snags, which was very annoying, but its good water in there. Hopefully we'l be able to go for a fish up there some time soon.

Sounds like you got a nice feed rockfisho where you fishing north or south of teewah cheers Adam.

adam. I was fishing just north of the third cutting.

Pete, i was at lion rock from about 330 til 5:30. I saw two guys leaving the national park as i was entering it.

Thanks for that owen were you fishing the tides or just the early morning period cheers Adam.

we fished the early morning periods on the incoming tide. It was over cast that day so the tailor continued til about 10. Although they weren't that plentiful, just a few big ones in the gutter.
A long cast was also needed to get it into the wash out the back
