Too Much Fresh in the Bored-water

Quick scout mission in the broadwater lookin for early season flatties for the BBQ

Dead quiet - it really was the bored-water
Dirty water like mud still
Even the birds were asleep


Wasn't there for the run in which would've been better for a fish I think
Might be better for the bream fisho's out there at the moment!

Didn't have time for jewie fishin had to leave before the change of tide unfortunately. Would be the pick of things to chase right now but am working .



Might try in a weeks time

Same problem down the Tweed this morning - dirty fresh water on the run out and the first couple of hours of run in hadn't cleaned up either. Water temp down to 20 degrees and the southerly breeze was a bit cool!

Yes, plenty of Bream around if you wanted to chase them! Even without targetting them I still got a bag.

I just had to go fishing this morning - baby number 2 was due yesterday (didn't arrive) so my trips might be limited in the near future I see Rod's finally done it - when is your turn???

Good to see you on the water again - guessing we will see you at the Classic this year?

Franco, haven't seen or heard from you in yonks - congrats on the exams!

Not too many would disagree about the maturity thing buddy, especially your Mrs.

Sal and I are down in the last week of June should catch up for a fish then. The boat has been out three times this year; once in January had to be towed back from the pin; second time a week later when I cleaned up on unseasonably good flathead; and third time last week when I managed a 6.9kg mac tuna inside the brisbane river!

Hey Franco,

By the sounds of it im glad i had to work and couldnt come for a run with ya

I had a quick flatty sess yesterday arvo near the logan, was also pretty quiet with 2 55-60cm fish dropped at the net and 1 boated at 81cm for 2 hours of casting. My younger bro cleaned up on the bream this morning cranking some flats down the pin with over 40 bream for the session so they must be thick if he can catch that many I think they also had a go for a jewwie but tide against wind made short work of em.

Maybe all that time with your head in the books has cost ya your mojo!

Hope ya dont go getting to native on your rainforest trip this week mate

Franco, you just missed it by a day! Fishing was good at that spot x we spoke of last year, the one you did on tv. I dropped 1 good fish and lost 2 biggies on structure around the 1.89m high tide on Thurs nite straight after the rain. Also a few squire around. 1 hr either side of high tide was hot, dropped off after that. No probs with the fresh, except for weed on the line. Im going back for another go.

Marty, I guess youll land a 7 pounder one way or the other, lol.

i've found some of the best spots where ive caught flatties have bin land based not to say that there arent some awsome flatty spots form boat. just walkin the canals down at nerang usually produces the odd 70 plus great fun on 4 pound leader
is anyone familiar with little flathead holes around the mouth of the brizzy river?
just wondering got a few as by catch neva really targetted them through there
