jewies, jacks and flattys from the sunny coast

I have been fishing a few times over the last month or two with a few mates and my bro up the sunny coast at various. I haven't done so well by bro has done alright.

The jewies were all scored on chunks of squid. We actually set out to chase jacks and now realise the "jack spot" is also a jew spot as it gets cooler. We forgot the net that night so it was interesting deadlifting the bigger fish up about 6 feet to get them in - land based. The one without a tail still put up a reasonable fight and seems in goog condition except for no tail !

I managed to get the smaller flatty and a stingray over a metre across on 10lb braid - great fight. The jack was a nice late season suprise from the noose river.

    Cheers,

    Pete

    Thanks guys.

I can't tell you exactly where however the river and canal systems at the coast are great places if you can put in the time. For the jewies - very fresh squid on single or ganged 6.0 with 30+lb line was used. We have fished this spot quite a few times now and have come up empty handed and usually have both live and dead bait.
