GME Marine 27meg Marine radio 5mths old develops a scanning fault
So i ring Whitworths where I bought it to suss out there warranty procedures and it seems
2-3 week turnaround is the normal practice.
Not happy Jan wanna fish the long weekend
So i ring GME direct and speak to the service dept.
Turns out I shipped the unit off Monday arvo and this morning (Thurs)
replacement unit is in my hands ready for the long weekend haul.
Thanks GME seems there are still some good Aussie companies around.

These radios are crap i have had 7 radio's all with that fault and they just scream at you all the time at least they replaced all of them .

I think calling them crap is a bit hard i have had 2 over the years and they have never caused me a problem i now have an icom vhf though..matt

they are the worst radio on the market ring Whitworths and ask them how many they have replaced you will be gob smacked its huge , its the waterproof 27 meg one that really isnt waterproof , they gave me a cover to stop radio from getting wet and when you turned radio off it stayed on ? Crap and its a common fault maybe they have fixed problem as this one has lasted 6 months.The old 294 was awesome.
