A great read Graham. I can't view those pics from work though (some block they've put on our IT system) so will have to wait 'till tonight to look again. Can't wait to see them.

The Cruiser was eventually pulled out by a winch and a snatch strap.
That was after the first snatch strap broke and smashed a spotlight.

This is a pic that Shane took.
    This is a fantastic shot.
What you can't see, is that there is a boat behind the cat being sprayed.

Two things not to buy on Fraser Island, fuel and grog.

We always take plenty of each, although I am not sure of the legalities of having a dozen 20 litre jerry cans of fuel on the back of the Lux, keeps the arse end down though.

Thanks to everyone for your comments.

Let me say to those of you that have never done this comp, and have always wanted to, you need to get your act together, cause it is a fantastic time.

Next years dates are: May 16-22nd.

    You won't regret it.

You will find that the fishing is only part of it.

Graham, I missed out on being part of the comp so we started our own as we had about 6 guys in our marquee (the first xxxxx yellow one) that could not get in. Normally we are advised when the numbers are starting to get itgt but this year the organisors completely ignored the oldies, guess it is a supply and denabd thing plus Toyota certatiny have been calling the shots lately.

Agree the weathr was bad especially friday morning. Got to camp just on 2:00 am and found our flag mast bent at 90 degrres and the wind just starting to howl. Hit the sack only to be awaken by some mates to be told our supply tent was about to be ripped to shreds. We pulled that down and hit the sack only to be woken at daylight and the marquee was about to end up up at Sandy Cape with a few stalwarts hanging on to the tent ropes. We eventually pulled it down and bedded down frdiay night at a mates place.

The old say is "The worst day on Frase is better than a good day at work" still stands after the last trip.

Glad you enjoyed the trip, weather and all but that is Fraser.

    Yeah Dignity,
I think a lot of people missed out on getting in the comp this year as they left their application too late.
I know a couple, and I also know the guy who scored no.1500.
    How lucky was he!!!!

Re: What the Fraser 2008 comp was for me

Thanks for the pics Graham, and the beers, and the tow, and all the rest of the stuff. It was a lot of fun to share with you and #1500, and Mitch, Shane, Foxy, Greg, Macca, Terry & Andy - Shane may be wanting to alter the sleeping arrangements after my indiscretion on the last night

p.s. that jobby looks smaller than it actually was, it's tail needed to bent to fit into the esky and I couldn't straighten it out fully for the photo

    cheers
    Steve
