    Coomera River-Freshwater again

Had a look at the coomera river this morning to see what the overnight rain had done to it, looks like another few weeks of waiting for a flick out there till it cleans up. Although i have heard jewies like to come up the estuaries when there is a bit of fresh around, is this true?
    Cheers

Thx geoff, thats a bit more run than I thought would be there. I fished up there last week, worked HBs , SPs and livies, plenty of baitfish and no bites but catfish.

I dunno about the jew, I reckon the seaway would be the go. Very few get caught upriver in any conditions.

    cheers

O'well, better new than in the middle of summer, a good flush out is a good thing in the long run, I'd say. How are those Jew going Gecko, any yet?

No good dids, not for lack of trying either. The wife told me I should go fishing last nite, so I didnt need a second invite.

Nearly got spooled last night in the seaway. Something took 200m and then spat out the bait. I think the 12 in mullet was too big for its mouth, I really prefer em about 6in. had a couple of bustoffs, so I put out a wire trace and still couldnt hookup with 10/0s. Id say they were all sharks. Plenty of excitement tho with the dirty water.

    I must be getting closer.

    cheers

Fished the south arm of the coomera today, conditions not that bad good quality whiting between sanctuary cove and sovereign island.
Plenty of bream up to 30 cm.
Have a look at what happened to one of my whiting, it was grabbed by something long and silver beside the boat, i presume it was a tailor the whiting was approximatly 35 cm long so whatever the predator was it was big. cheers wayne.

    Hey,

Obviously the rainwater doesnt stop you youngy , in a way it was lucky you didnt hook up with that fish with your whiting gear, it would of taken some time to get it in. You should of chucked a livie out while you were there, you never know???

    Cheers!
