lure rigging problems, plz help
Hey guys,
recently whent fishing with recently bought lures consisting of grub sp`s and small pilchard harbody lures.
When i put the pilchard lure on, during retreive it tended to spin around like a propeller or something.
This was because it wasnt rigged straight right?
well how would i rig this properly to give it a realistic non spinning retrieve.
btw i used the standard lure rigging knot.
thanks guys plz help out a noob

mate some lures come out of the box perfect some dont u need to tune your lure ,, maily just bend the bib left or right to get it to swim straight it also mite need looking at the towing eyelet.

What was the brand of hard body lure?? was it a metal slug?? they often spin.
Did you tie dorectly to the tow point on the front?? maybe you need a snap swivel to remove the tendency to spin.

Is it a just a small floating crank bait? Lures can spin if your winding too fast. Is the lure working while your winding it in (ie driving and swaying from side to side)?

Slugs are basically designed to be cranked pretty fast, there is not a whole heap you can do to stop them spinning, though mackerel or any other speedsters usually don't mind. A swivel at the tow point does help reduce line twist.

Yeah, As Chris stated use a swivel with slugs like those, they twist naturally and are designed for either vertical jigging or cranking back quickly.
