    Jewfish

Just wondering what peoples favourite soft plastic lures for jewies are? I'll be fishing Tallibudgera creek on the Gold Coast.

I wouldn't have a clue mate but have you tried a search on them? There should be some info about it. Are you fishing land base or boat?

    Cheers, Mick.

I have caught a few soapies on the Gulp 2" Shrimp and the 5" Turtleback worm - I have also caught grown ups on the Goby and the 3" Minnow Grub

    Re: Jewfish

From what I have gleaned from reports and photos of soft plastic caught Jew they are nearly always caught on a paddle tailed shad of some description. Colour does not seem to be a factor as there arent too many with same colours mounted in the gobs of the fish. Mostly they seem to be 4" or 5" shads.

I'll mainly be in a boat behind an enclosed swimming area. So far I have caught bream, trevally and tailor around the netting, and I have seen guys catch cod, but I think there has only been one Jew fish caught there.

    Re: Jewfish

My brother got one on a 130mm squidgy paddletail in black and gold the other day. But yeah do a search as suggested, there's been a few posted up, and not just in the estuary/bay section, check out flick flacks monster in the offshore reports too.

    Re: Jewfish

Stick baits, shad or fish shapes in the 4 to 6 inch size. Colour not so important, but suiting the jig hook and weight to the coditions very inportant.

I've got them on pearl watermelon gulps.

But I think area is more specific.
